On Monday, we will continue with division by dividing 1-digit numbers into 2-digits and 3-digits.

Read p. 112 (Adding and Substracting Decimals) and complete sections A and B on p. 113.
What we do is write out the problem in a notebook, then start from the beginning. “P” for parentheses.
For example:
5 x (9-4) +6 =
5 x 5 +6=So far we have added the numbers in brackets, following order of operations, and our answer has been written underneath the sign of operation in brackets. Now we will Multiply my dear!
5 x 5 + 6=
25+ 6=Finally Aunt Sally, we will add
25 + 6= 31
Impress your friends with this math trick. Ask the friend to do steps 1-6 on a calculator or piece of paper. Then ask for their result. With the result, you can tell them their age.
1. Pick a number, any number between 1 and 9
2. Multiply this number by 2
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50
5. If the person has already had a birthday this year add 1758. If they haven't, add 1757.
6. Subtract the 4 digit year that they were born.
